Arend Huisman

Arend Huisman speelt trombone vanaf z'n twaalfde jaar, toen hij begon in brassband "Hosannah". Daarna kwam hij in aanraking met de lichte muziek in de "Jelle Buising Bigband". Toen volgde een traject via het Gronings conservatorium naar het Hilversums conservatorium, alwaar hij bij Bart van Lier afstudeerde.

Hij speelde of speelt nog steeds professioneel in: Het Fluitekruidt, the Dutch Palladium Orchestra, Fifty-Six, de Dixieland Crackerjacks, Soul Vaccination, de New Metronome Bigband, Aces of Syncopation, Cuby and the Blizzards, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Manhattan Society, de Skyliners, de Eddie Engels Big Band, Piter Wilkens, Hollyood Boulevard, Cat Ballou, the Boston Tea Party, the Piece of Cake Jazzband, Dixie Unlimited, Jazz Unlimited, en nog vele andere orkesten.

Hij is waargenomen als leider van tot nu toe zes bigbands (w.o. de professionele New Metronome Bigband) en heeft meegewerkt aan minstens twintig cd's. Hij heeft tenslotte tournees gemaakt naar Denemarken, Duitsland, België, Frankrijk, Engeland, Oostenrijk, Zwitserland en Italie.
